The Heilongjiang province is located in Northeast of China, covers an area of 454,000 square kilometers, has a population of about 38,130,000, cultivated land of 11.516 million hectares. Per capita has cultivated land of 0.31 hectare. Cultivated land is concentrated, smooth and fertile. It is one of three vast black earth belt in the world.
Be our country¡¯s main grain producing area, important base for marketable grain production of country, total grain output has already amounted to 37.8 billion kilograms in 2006. The Heilongjiang province owns great forest , great grassland , great wet land and rich water resource , have composed fine ecological environment in agriculture. Simultaneously, the Heilongjiang province has a great amount of agricultural machinery, "it¡¯s agriculture has ridden on iron cattle" that farm mechanization has a great effect in building modern agriculture.
Heilongjiang agricultural mechanization rate has amounted already to 78.9% , among them agricultural machinery power , big £¦medium-size agricultural machinery quantity and mechanization in plowing, seeding, crop protection, are in front rank of whole country. The Heilongjiang province agriculture is marching towards agricultural modernization with propping of farm mechanization, agricultural industrialization and informalization.
Heilongjiang reclamation area is maximal reclamation area of our country, agricultural modernization, agricultural machinery equipment and farm mechanization level are in front rank of whole country. Reclamation area now has more than 2.3 million hectares of cultivated land , 104 state-owned large-scale farms. Be known as "the Great North Wilds" in history.
Through construction and hard work of three generation of "the Great North Wilds person" during 60 years, Heilongjiang reclamation area grain product already amounts to 11,320 million kilo in 2006 , that commodity rate has already reached more than 90%, is an important base for marketable grain production of country. Agricultural mechanization rate has reached to 93.3% at end of 2006. Now available agricultural machinery power is 4,208,000 kilowatts, 63877 tractors of various type.
